Special Analysis: The MIR System Proposal
Implementing a Minimum Influence Rating to protect the GBO2 ecosystem. (Archive No. SYS-005)
The Core Logic: MAR and MIR Formula
To prevent "smurfing" and ensure fair matchmaking, we introduce the Minimum Influence Rating (MIR). This system calculates an invisible floor based on a player's Maximum Achieved Rating (MAR).
MIR = ( ( MAR - 1500 ) / 2 ) + 1475
- RTP Protection: A player's current Rating Point (RTP) will never drop below their MIR, preserving their status as an experienced pilot.
- The Ceiling: MIR is capped at 2100, keeping expert players away from beginner brackets while maintaining high-tier fluidity.
Case Study & Incremental Hardening
Example: For a veteran with 2699 MAR, the MIR is approximately 2074. Even in a slump, they remain anchored above beginner levels.
The system also features "Incremental Hardening": winning matches at peak MAR adds +5 to the MIR, making your rank an irreversible proof of skill.
"MIR ensures that once you've seen the view from the top, you can never go back to being a 'beginner'—for the sake of the game's future."
