The Golden New Year Theory

Author: Kojiman | Archival Reboot: 2026

It’s that time of year again. In this archival piece, we revisit the strong hunch that the New Year's lineup must feature a "Mobile Suit with a Golden Body." Does the data support this personal jinx?

■ Historical Year-End Analysis

  • 2020.01.01: Hyaku Shiki (The absolute peak of gold)
  • 2021.01.08: Gundam Mk-V (Not gold, but a titan of its era)
  • 2022.01.01: Dag Doll (The sunrise in G-Sign format)

Despite the facts, the gut feeling remains. If we seek a "Gold Powerhouse," the list of candidates is elite:

  • MSN-001 Delta Gundam
  • Land Combat Hyaku Shiki Kai
  • RX-0 Phenex (The ultimate golden dream)

■ The Verdict: The "Sun" Rises

The actual 2022 unit, Dag Doll, wasn't gold. But its silhouette—majestic and steady—mirrors the "Hatsuhinode" (First Sunrise). My theory manifested not in color, but in divine energy. In GBO2, sometimes the sun is more important than the gold.

Happy hunting in the New Year!

The Evolution of Defense

Reflections on the GBO Winter Festival 2021 and the tactical shift in defensive skills.

As the weather turns cold, GBO2 celebrates with the Winter Festival 2021. While the Battle Simulator mission update brings the Moon Gundam into the spotlight, I found myself drawn back to a familiar giant: the Psycho Gundam.

The Faith in "Active Guard"

My wish is to confront Psycho Gundam's fierce attacks using the FA Gundam Mk-II. Specifically, I want to test the Active Guard skill—a high-risk, high-reward defensive tool.

The FA Gundam Mk-II lacks Emergency Evasion or Maneuver Armor. This omission suggests the developers were testing how a pure defensive skill would influence the established game balance.

Reorganizing the Battlefield

In the early days, shields and evasion were rare. As the game evolved, these became standard. However, developers seem to aim for a "higher-order environment" by introducing skills like Active Guard to machines losing their individuality.

Winter 2021: Waiting for the chance to master the perfect defense.
